Tahseen is an LCS Accredited Certifier, and its Lean programs are delivered by an LCS Approved Trainer.
What it covers
Lean Awareness
Where Lean and continuous improvement come from, and the principles: value, waste, flow, pull and the value stream. PDCA and DMAIC; related approaches such as Six Sigma, systems thinking and the Theory of Constraints; and the human side: engagement, leadership and culture.
Diagnosis & Analysis
What the customer values, mapping a process and its value stream as it is and as it should be, the quality and problem-solving tools (the seven quality tools, 5 Whys, FMEA, A3), variation, demand and capacity, and basic data gathering and statistics.
Implementation & Improvement
Workplace organisation (5S) and standard work, visual management and performance measures, flow and pull (takt time, Kanban, SMED, TPM, OEE), mistake-proofing, and sustaining the change through leadership, coaching and facilitation.
Outcomes and assessment
After the program, a participant can
- Take an active part in improvement in their own workplace
- Diagnose a process and its problems with data, not opinion
- Plan an improvement, put it in place and keep it there
- Speak the same language as the rest of the improvement team
How it is assessed and certified
Knowledge, by a test or an exam. Practice, by evidence that the tools were used at work: an A3, a project report or a portfolio. Those who pass are certified through the LCS.
How long it takes
The LCS indicates about 40 hours of learning each for levels 1b and 1c, and 3 to 6 hours for 1a, including teaching, practice and assessment; levels taught in one program share hours. We set the days and the pace with you.
If your organisation thinks in belts: in depth, this program is comparable to a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. The certificate is the LCS Certificate of Lean Competency, not a Six Sigma belt.
